Sarah rented "Across the Universe."
I think, after seeing about 5 minutes worth, that it's managed to quite quickly piss me off more than any other form of media has been able to do in quite a while. I want to barf magma all over the tv.

My belly kinda hurts.
I have a wounded foot.
I am excited for wrastlin coming up next week on Wednesdak, and for Bonsai class on Saturday.
Prelim schedule suggest I'll likely only be working 3 days next week, 13 hour days. Lots of time in between. Besides Wednesdak, anybody care to do anything?
Edit:
Don't really know what's going on now. Sarah quit a job so we might plan a few things now. Still, lemme know if anything is going on!

12:32 am - Movies- Review, Questions, and Suggestions
|
I just saw "The Mummy III". Dragon Emperor something something whatever. Mind bogglingly terrible, and unsure as to whether it was meant to be or not. If you liked the other mummy movies you'll probably like it. If you wanted to watch yet another one of Jet Li's "Final Action Movie"s you'll be sorely disappointed.
Why haven't I watched "House of Flying Daggers" yet?
What's the one movie involving 3 hidden master martial artists (One was definitely hun-gar) and they end up getting killed by these dark looking dudes who sit down in the middle of the town one night and play an enormous stringed instrument that literally shoots hundreds of swords?
A while back Dennis asked for movie suggestions. Might I put "The Tiger and the Snow" out there? It's really good, and shucks, you can even instant play it on Netflix.
Does anybody remember a tv movie thingy called "White Dwarf"? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114926/
I've been obsessing over it for some time now, and if anyone knows where or how I might be able to procure a copy of it somewhere, please to let me know.

One more day and I'll have some money again. Inspection totals were modest this time around, only 400 dollars on the dot to fix the wipers and 3 new tires, 3 new bulbs, inspection and emissions. Good deal. Sweet part is that my car drives like it's new all over again with those new tires and alignment. Pretty sweet. Just wish I could find a way to get that dent out of the back of it. I might sell the thing sooner or later, ya know?
Speaking of money, who knows anything about it? I for one, do not. For instance, should I go to hypothetically go and live in another country for, I dunno, 6 months to a few years, how does one handle the whole money situation? Surely, a job procured once there would be in order, maybe even a local account, but of the bills at home, how does one best go about paying such things? Any tips would be appreciated.

Work is pretty boring and easy. I can definitely use easy and boring for a good long while.
Sarah will be on her way back from California in a few days.

Hey, can I get just a FEW comments on the youtube post? Took me an awful long time to rip the dvd, edit, and figure out how to upload the darned thing in youtube. Just so I know a few people out there skimmed it?

Kinda makes me feel a little empty to use a Carlin joke anymore. Maybe still just a little sad.
Sarah's off in Cali, so tonight I read "The Life of Pi" by Yann Martel.
I can't recall the last time I've been so punched in the face by a book.
Reading it went like this:
This pretty well written. The subject matter isn't the most interesting thing in the world to me, but it's fun. Then it was like....wow. These things can't be happening, yet they're so well described, they must have been. THEN it was like, HOW?
Then it was like, aww man, I don't want it to end like this. How stupid. How cliche'. I was really liking it till now. Then it went and punched me and I said "What the fuck." Then it kinda laughed at me a little and peed on my shoes.
This was a really good book for a surprisingly many reasons.

Thanks to Netflix and Youtube, I've lately been able to recover some of the best and most terrifying of all my childhood memories. The things I watched became ever-present subconscious fragments of my mental state, and hopefully did not start a strange chain reaction resulting in the eventual breakdown and lingering mental illness I'll likely have as a senior citizen.
I present to you, likely the scariest thing ever. This is the 1986 made-for-tv version of "Alice in Wonderland : Through the Looking Glass." Carol Channing (The woman who, if she didn't actually exist, could never have possibly been imagined by another human being.) plays the White Queen.
And secondly, on a much lighter note, quite possibly my favorite part of the show. Humpy Dumpty played by Johnathan Winters, every body.
Besides the obvious terror, it's actually a really fun and weird movie to watch. The cast is worth the 3 hour romp through hell.

When uploading a youtube video, generally how long does it take to "process" so that it can become viewable?

Start the new job on Wednesday next week. I'm not exactly excited, taking a lower position for more money, but uh...I guess it works. Anything is better than what I'm doing right now, except possibly real actual manual labor...outside....in the heat....lifting things.
Hey, more money is good. And I'll probably work a little less. Seems they make a big deal out of letting their employees have overtime.
Additionally, Sarah's leaving in about 3 hours for her parents, from where she will go to the airport, and hop a plane for sunny Sonoma, California for about 2 weeks.
I guess what I'm trying to say is.....anybody want to be friends? I don't have a pool table or video games...or food...but I do have books and plants and cats.

Dishoom!
So does anybody know of a way for me to make a nice randomized playlist with winamp that would pretty much include all of my music? All of my stuff is in one folder, but then catagorized by group into a bunch of subfolders. Any ideas?

Who watches the Watchers?
My feet.
Also, the check engine light came on in my car today. I don't think hyundai has power on blinky codes. Might need to find one of those mindnumbingly expensive diagnostic plug in tools? I dunno. It's not driving any different.
I bought running shoes. And the Lord did grin.

Had a pretty awesome time with Sarah for her birthday. We did lots of things, the last of which was see Dark Knight at the Waterfront. VIP seating? Hellz yeah.
It's been a pretty good summer for movies, I have to admit. Dark Knight was good at a lot of things. Some other things, maybe not so. I suppose I'm just a little nitpicky. Out of the ones this summer, the ones that I both saw and liked:
1. Wall-e 2. Speed Racer 3. Dark Knight 4. Prince Caspian 5. Kung-Fu Panda
Yeah, that's the order for em. Dark Knight was good, but the best part of the movie was the trailer for Watchmen. Check it out: http://watchmenmovie.warnerbros.com/
I admit, like a man, that I've never even read the graphic novel. I'm still very excited.
I also watched "The Color Purple" for the first time last night. I enjoyed it.

It was a rare Friday off, and I got some good stuffs done. Re-potted the ole' christmas cactus, and named it Special Patrol Group. It's not original but I love it. Made some stuffed peppers. Visited the parents, changed the car oil, and swore at my car a great deal.
Had 2 interviews for various restaurant positions. It's either something that I'm doing now or that I've done in the past for either of them. The jobs specifically, aren't anything to get excited for...but I think perhaps if nothing else it's nice to know that I'm in a market where experienced poor trained gorillas like me can make lateral movements between places for an extra .25 cents an hour.
Wait, that was supposed to be a positive comment. Moops. Well, I dunno. Either way besides my present job being shitty, I'm just really bored of it and making a hop will at least bring a small amount of change.
Present matters to deal with first, however. It seems that on this lovely day off 2 people quit, so I'll be back on 6-7 days a week at work for a while, or until I quit.
Salute.

This is what I get for my years of wild hedonism!
Ah well. My back hurts, but the apartment is pretty much the way it is going to be now, dressers and bookshelves and beds all moved.
I was reflecting a bit the other day. Edd's all moved out now, rent's been paid for this month...and it's just Sarah and I now. The place seems bigger. It's just a little odd. For quite a while the equation has been Zack + Girlfriend + Room Mate. Heck even before that it was Zack + Any odd amounts of room mates. I haven't NOT had a room mate since, shit.
Maybe I've always had room mates?
I'm just saying it's kinda weird.
